What I Told Students at the #ClimateStrike

Dear [firstname]:

Today, the United Nations General Assembly is meeting in New York City. First up on their agenda? The urgent crisis posed by climate change and how the international community must work to stop it.

This is an issue that I care about deeply -- and before I left Washington on Friday, I was proud to stand in support of students there and across the country who were striking in support of climate action.

I told them to never give up or give in, and to keep fighting until we have a country that is ready to face this crisis with creativity and courage.

You can watch my full speech on YouTube by clicking here or on the image below.

The energy and power of the students that showed up was electric. I walked away inspired by their leadership and ready to keep up the drumbeat for climate action in Congress. I know that together, we are going to change our country -- and our world -- for the better.

More Soon,
James P. McGovern
Member of Congress
