Hi [firstname],

I've often said that hunger is a political condition. America is a country of abundance. We have the food and the know-how to end hunger in America. What we lack is the political will. Hunger is not inevitable. Hunger is a policy failure.

That's why I'm launching a statewide End Hunger Now Tour, visiting all 9 congressional districts in Massachusetts.

I've warned for months about how Republican policies will be a disaster for working people and families struggling to keep food on the table. Trump cut nearly $200 billion in nutrition assistance just to give their billionaire donors another massive tax break in his Big Ugly Bill—and we're starting to see the devastating impacts. Now, he's even trying to hide it by canceling USDA’s research and reporting on hunger in America.

Not on my watch.

I’m launching this tour to hear directly from families struggling to buy groceries and keep food on the table—as well as local officials, and the incredible nonprofit leaders on the frontlines of fighting food insecurity in Massachusetts.

Unlike too many of my colleagues, I’ve actually been listening to folks who are getting screwed over by Trump’s economy, and I’m going to keep fighting on behalf of the people all across Massachusetts and the country who don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.

My statewide tour officially begins on Friday, January 16th, with events alongside Representative Stephen Lynch in Quincy and Ayanna Pressley in Everett. I'll share more details about both stops with you shortly.

I look forward to joining all of my congressional colleagues in their communities over the next few weeks, and I hope you'll join me as we fight together to #EndHungerNow.

Sincerely,
