Yesterday at the Franklin County Children’s Advocacy Center in Greenfield, I joined local leaders and advocates to announce $879,000 in federal funding that I delivered for Northampton-based nonprofit Stop It Now!

Stop it Now! works with families, caregivers, and community partners to prevent child sexual abuse.

Their work is not easy. But it is necessary. And at a time when the news keeps reminding us that adults, institutions, and people in positions of power do not always live up to their responsibility to protect children, this kind of prevention work matters more than ever.

I’m deeply grateful to have organizations right here in our district doing the hard, life-changing, life-saving work of protecting kids and supporting families.

This funding will enable Stop it Now! to strengthen child sexual abuse prevention across Massachusetts—training trusted community partners to have hard but necessary conversations with families and caregivers, expanding access to proven resources like phone, chat, and email helplines, and gathering the research and data we need to make prevention efforts even stronger.

That is a big deal.

And it's one of fifteen local Community Project Funding requests my team and I worked tirelessly to secure, bringing almost $13 million back to the Second District for projects that matter to the people and communities I’m proud to represent.

I’ll always take on the big fights in Washington. But days like this are what this job is really about: working with good people here at home to get something done that makes our commonwealth safer and stronger.

I’m proud to partner with Stop It Now!, the Franklin County Children’s Advocacy Center, and everyone doing this work with compassion, courage, and determination.

Every child deserves to grow up safe. Every family deserves support. Every community deserves partners who show up.

That’s what this funding is about.
