Dear [firstname]:

In just under an hour, I'll be heading back to Washington for another busy week of votes and committee hearings. Before I do, I wanted to take a second to give you a quick update about my work over the last week.

In Westborough, I attended an important community conversation at Congregation B’nai Shalom about the alarming rise in incidents of hate that has taken place across America — and what each of us can do to stand up to intolerance and bigotry wherever and whenever we see it.

On Veterans Day, I joined Veterans, Inc. for their annual pancake breakfast to say thanks to all who have served our country in uniform, past and present. Thanking our veterans with words is not enough, and that's why I'm proud of the package of nine bipartisan bills that House Democrats passed last week to ensure that America fulfills our commitment to our military families and brave servicemembers who put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free.

I wrote an opinion piece in the Worcester Telegram and Gazette about why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should allow an up-or-down vote on three important bills that House Democrats have passed to prevent foreign interference in American elections.

Finally, I took some time to write out personal responses to a few of the thousands of constituent letters and emails that my office receives every month (we answer all the others too, I just do it in bulk using an app!)

Please remember that if you're having trouble with something that I can assist with - such as stalled veterans benefits or trouble with Social Security or Medicare - you can visit my website for more information. Last year alone, my office got over 2,300 constituents the help they needed, and we'd be honored to assist you too.

I truly believe that our democracy works best when everyone's voice is heard. Click here to find out how we can keep in touch.

More Soon,
James P. McGovern
Member of Congress
