McGovern Statement on Retirement of Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme

Worcester, MA, May 4, 2016

Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-02) released the following statement on the retirement of Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme:

“Worcester is safer because of the tireless service of our police officers and I am so grateful to Chief Gemme for his leadership as police chief and for more than 30 years of working to protect our community. By strengthening neighborhood partnerships and expanding community policing, Chief Gemme has helped to make Worcester one of the safest cities in Massachusetts. This is a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we work together. We wish him the very best in his retirement and thank him for all he has done to keep our families safe.”
