McGovern Applauds Margaret Guzman’s Confirmation to U.S. District Judge for the District of Massachusetts

WASHINGTON—Today, Congressman James P. McGovern (D-MA), released the following statement after Margaret Guzman was confirmed as United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts:

“I’m thrilled to learn that Judge Margaret Guzman has been confirmed by the United States Senate to be United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts. Through her experience as a public defender and proven track record as a Massachusetts trial court judge, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to the people of the Commonwealth that I’m confident will continue in her new role. President Biden recognized Judge Guzman’s exceptional qualifications when he nominated her last July. I want to congratulate her on this historic and well-deserved achievement and commend Senators Warren and Markey for their steadfast advocacy in support of her nomination. As Judge Guzman begins her new role on the federal bench, I know she will continue to be a thoughtful and fair champion for equal justice under law here in Worcester county and throughout the nation.”
